Our history
How CMM began
In April 1995, Dr. Mark McDonald, a dentist from Concord, New Hampshire, and his friend
Jack Meibaum traveled to Constanza in the Dominican Republic to help a group from Grace
Bible Fellowship in Concord with evangelistic outreach, a construction project and a
medical clinic.
After returning, Mark and Jack both felt God calling them back to the Dominican Republic
to continue providing medical and dental care. An eye care professional joined them on
several trips to examine patients and distribute eyeglasses. After several trips, they
committed to establishing Christian Medical Mission as a New Hampshire nonprofit,
non-denominational organization. These three, along with a few others, formed CMM’s
original board and began taking groups to various parts of the world for dental and
eyeglass clinics and evangelistic outreach.
CMM built homes in San Jose Adentro to use during mission trips and to further its
outreach. Over the years, our groups have served through evangelism, construction, food
and clothing distribution, eyeglass distribution, education, and medical and dental
clinics — and, most importantly, have brought the Gospel to the people of the community.

Over the years
A home in San Jose Adentro
CMM builds homes in the community of San Jose Adentro to use during mission trips and to further its outreach. The houses also host other organizations serving in the area. Jack now lives in the Dominican Republic and has a dental clinic in the community.

Over the years
Growing alongside the community
CMM groups help build an addition on a local school, expand a nearby church, support students going to university, teach English to young adults, build and repair homes, and assist with the community's water supply — and, most importantly, share the Gospel.

Classes and clean water
CMM's Christian Education building in San Jose Adentro offers English classes for children, computer and cooking classes, and a men's Bible study, and shares water from its rainwater collection system with the community during the dry season. With local youth, Mark maps every home in the area, and CMM develops a survey of each household's medical needs and water filters for local homes.
