On our trip, one of the outreach programs we chose to do with our group was eyeglass clinics. We were told there was a woman a ways out of the village that was having difficulty with her sight for a long time and needed glasses.
We hiked out, and when we arrived at her home she was very excited to see us, and asked her granddaughter to go back in the house and get her Bible. She told us through our translator that all she wanted was to be able to read her Bible again.
We took a few glasses out of the bag, and when she tried on the third pair she looked down at her Bible and a huge smile took over her face. She was ecstatic. She could read her Bible! The joy she had was contagious, and the entire group was filled with happiness and thanking God for this miracle.
We were down to only a few pairs of glasses in our case after a lot of clinics being held, and we weren’t even sure there would be a pair that would fit and work. We stepped out in faith that we would be able to help, and God showed us His power.
